I think that most if not all Volkswagens will be returned and money will be refunded to the car owners. I also think that Volkswagen will become bankrupt and nobody will ever purchase their cars again. I think Volkswagen employees who were aware of the problems should taken to court and in addition to being sued and jail time, they should be responsible for helping and improving the environment which they had a hand in destroying. I think they should have to do community service to help the environment and reverse the effects of their cars pollution. I think it is disgusting that Volkswagen cheated the system and they should assume full responsibilities for their actions.
I think it should be end game here for Volkswagen. If you deliberately program your car to deceive emission tests, a test designed to belittle pollution- being that pollution could & most likely would kill us, the company is not only doomed economically but also is completely discredited. Volkswagen used to be a very well known car, once word spreads about this, the company should soon perish. However, I do feel that the company should be taken to court on charges of fraud, and reimburse the environment as a whole.
I believe that Volkswagen and its employees should be held responsible for the crime that they have committed. The Employees should be taken up on criminal charges for fraud and customers should be reimbursed. If Volkswagen does not go bankrupt they will come close to it and should be taken as an example of what happens if the system is violated. This is also a wake up call for other companies knowing that faking a test for the environment comes with severe consequences. It is no ones fault but their own and they should pay for it.
Volkswagen has programed their cars to emit 40 times the legal limit of emissions just so that their cars could run better, which is unacceptable. This will not only affect the United States, but it could extend to other countries as well. People all over the globe will start to question what else they lied about. It will take an extremely long time for their reputation to increase, if it will at all. I believe that the people who were lied to should get their full money back because it is not fair at all that they were a part of this fraudulence. Though it is hard to know which employees were involved, it can be assumed that there were multiple people involved. Therefore those who worked on the technology should get fired
Since Volkswagen was caught reprogramming their cars to pass emissions tests there will be more research done into other car makers to make sure that they are not doing the same thing. Some states could change the way they perform the tests such as making the cars run at highway speeds during testing. There will be more laws passed that control the standards and testing to ensure that the cars meet the emissions requirements. Volkswagen will have a bad image for many years and will need to do something to make the public believe them again. They should be required to pay large fines that will go towards the protection of the environment as a result of what they did. And they should be required to have their software verified by the government to make sure that they don't do this again.
Knowing that Volkswagen got caught I would think there are more car companies out there doing the exact same thing and that there should be tests tat are better so this can't happen again. Volkswagen should be fined and the U.S should stop selling there cars immediately. I don't believe anything will happen to Volkswagen I think the people involved will just get fired.
The outcome of Volkswagen getting caught will greatly affect the company and the CEO, who I believe is already stepping down. Furthermore, they will have pay back the tax subsidies given to them by the federal government because they thought their cars were environmentally friendly. Also, this will greatly contribute to the questioning of the use of the software that is used in voting machines and cars which can easily be hacked. People will now begin testing these devices more closely. For example they will begin to put emissions detectors in the tail pipe and manufactures will not be able to block research done on their systems. My opinion is that we should keep an eye on these large corporations because they have so much power and Volkswagen should have to pay back large amounts of money for their mistake. Also, they should be restricted in terms of the cars they can make for a long time.
Since Volkswagen got caught I believe the real question should be how many other companies are doing the same thing. Also Volkswagen will loose and continue to loose a lot of customer because of this scandal and deserve what ever the outcome is. I believe that these devices should be check more carefully. Another problem is the fact that money is more important than the environment to them. This is not a good example to set for other companies.
Volkswagen should be ashamed. They value money more than they do the survival our planet for the years to come. If everyone should do what they have done where will our world be in about 15 years. They should be punished for what they have done in order for others to see that it is important that they do not put more than their share of emissions into the earths athmosphere. Personally I wil not be buying any Volkswagen product now or ever.
The outcome of Volkswagen getting caught will probably start with a lack of customers and less popularity within the company. I believe all the current owners of Volkswagen cars should get their money back if they see fit. The company is going to be required to pay back all of the tax subsides that they obtained because their cars supposedly supported the environment, probably putting the company in debt. Additionally this will probably scare other companies that are committing the same crime and hopefully prevent this from happening in the future.
The effects of the Volkswagen scandal will be far reaching. Now, manufacturers will be more closely watched by the government to ensure that their machines are honest. I also think companies that are currently cheating the system will be more aware of their position and thus either attempt to hide their unlawful actions or halt the production of these dishonest products. I think stricter laws and tests will be put put into effect so that this situation will not continue to occur. I hope that Volkswagen will be severely punished, and laws will be put in place to ensure that other corporations will not be able to do the same.
After the Volkswagens stupied action they now suffer the conequences. The Volkswagens lost lots of stocks they will be out of beusness for a while. Now the government will watch more closely at the cars and if there are other cheaters out there I'm sure they will fix there cheating problem.
Since Volkswagen got caught in their little scandal I believe that they should be punished by being more closely examined and to return any money that is owed to any Volkswagen owner should be paid back for all money that has been wasted. Furthermore, since this incident has happened I'm sure that all other car companies will be making sure that they don't get caught or have nothing to fear but I'm positive there will be some sort of law to be scrutinizing all car companies. Lastly, my dad was considering to buy a Volkswagen for my first car. After reading this, I think i should talk to him.
Volkswagen should be watched much closer during the production of their vehicles. The company is already getting fined lots of money and has already lost 48% of their market value. Also the company has to pay back all of the environmental subsidies and initiatives that it benefited from which will increase the debt burden on the company. I do not believe any further action should be taken due to Volkswagens benefit to the US economy.
